Our Promise
Why we left the long ingredient lists behind.
A short, honest account of why RidgeField treats are organic, simple, and worth what they cost.

Where we started
A bag shouldn't need a glossary.
When we looked closely at what was going into most horse treats, we found bags carrying anywhere from twenty to thirty ingredients — long lists built for shelf life and cost, not for the horse.
Artificial flavors to mimic what real oats already taste like. Artificial colorings to make a treat look the part. Fillers and preservatives that added weight and little else. It was the opposite of simple, and the opposite of clean.
We kept asking the same question: if a treat is meant to be a small reward, a moment of trust between rider and horse, why should it carry anything the horse wouldn't recognize?
The decision
So we made everything organic.
We stripped the list back to whole, recognizable ingredients — oats, molasses, the herbs and fruits a horse already knows — and we sourced them organic. No artificial flavors. No artificial colorings. Nothing sprayed, nothing pressed, nothing hidden.
A treat should be exactly what it looks like: simple, clean, and safe for horses. That's the whole standard, and we hold every batch to it.

Why our prices sit higher
Premium ingredients cost what they cost.
Organic, whole ingredients simply cost more than the fillers and artificial substitutes they replace. We choose them anyway, because the quality of what goes into the bag is the entire point of the treat.
That choice is the reason our prices sit toward the higher end. We won't cut the ingredients to cut the price — doing so would undo the very promise the treats are built on.
A fair price lets us keep baking in small batches, keep sourcing well, and keep the business sustainable — so the next bag is made to the same standard as the last.
Simple. Clean. Organic. Made the way a reward should be.
